How to build a table for a CNC machine?

When you’re going to build a table for a CNC machine, there are a few key things you have to consider. A lot of times the plans that are out there don’t give the information you need. It can be tough to know exactly how to put it together so that it’s effective for your milling needs, and constructing it is a smooth process as well.

I would like to build a table for my cnc machine.

I was thinking about using 4×4 legs with 2×4 cross bracing. The top will be made from 3/4″ plywood and the base will be 1/2″ plywood. For additional stiffness, I plan on using angle iron along each side of the table and a bar across the front of it.

I plan to line everything with aluminum angle iron with a lip along each side that is about 2-3″ wide, so I can mount things on it easily and use magnetic sweeps as needed.
